Professional Development: Exploring Indigenous Perspectives and Reconciliation

CTLT Indigenous Initiatives offers workshops and consultations for all members of the UBC community (staff, students, and faculty) who are interested in learning more about Indigenous perspectives and topics, and who are looking for ways to explore actions that can be taken to support reconciliation through our work at the university. These workshops are spaces where you can bring your questions about Indigenous engagement in your own specific context, whether that be at the course or curriculum level, or having to do with professional development and learning for your unit or group. In these workshops, CTLT Indigenous Initiatives hosts discussions and shares educational resources to support the specific needs of the participants. Topics include:

  • Working with UBC’s Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP) in a teaching and learning context
  • Anti-racism and decolonization resources for education and training
  • Language and terminology

You may also reach out to CTLT Indigenous Initiatives for customized workshops or individual consultations based on your needs, including:

  • Course and curriculum consultations
  • Custom professional development consultations for your group or unit
  • Staff training
  • TA Training on classroom climate
